Our plant has a nominal capacity of 3,000 metric tons per day, achieving over 1,000,000 metric tons per year. It is located on Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea, on which is also located Malabo, the country’s capital city.

Our plant had its first commercial production in May 2001, and has developed into one of the most reliable plants in the industry. Our demonstrated ability to consistently provide a quality product has given AMPCO an excellent reputation in the marketplace.

Our methanol facility occupies an important role in the island’s development and growth, both economically and socially. See more information in the Learning & Development section.

Significant natural gas resources have been discovered recently near Bioko Island. These resources could support further expansion of methanol capabilities.
